About the Artist
I, Fred Garza, served as an educator for 27 yrs and 10 months in public schools and 8 years in private schools. During these years, I truly enjoyed teaching students, future teachers, and current teachers. My greatest thrill was teaching all levels of chemistry in high school. As a retiree, however, now I have a passion for painting.

Painting is my new passion, but I had to take art classes first.
I started drawing with pencils, charcoal, and then pastels. Now, I paint primarily with oils. I took four semesters of drawing and three semesters of painting at Tarrant County College -Southeast Campus in Arlington, TX.. My favorite teachers of all my educational career were my drawing teacher, Kyle Garrett, and my painting teacher, Dana Ferrera. They are the best!! The photo to the right is a pastel drawing I did of a volumetric flask.

Now, I like to bring a warm smile to each of my clients by painting landscapes from their vacation photos.
